An Imperfect picture (( a collaboration with shaman))
I once found the love of my life
between the center of my teenage years
and the gathering tempest of adulthood
She was perfect and new
stirring thought and feeling as one
that eclipsed time completely
As the sun rose into the naked blue sky
the sensations of love gripped more tightly
and left me wanting nothing but her
We married amid the blooms of summer
and cristened our union with soft kisses
against the backdrop of a future that was certain
Memories of that time remain within
yet have gone stale with age and lost their vibrancy
as the picture in the frame is cracked and devoid of color
I recall the years and ways of love we made
The warmth when we linked with each other
I yearn to feel the magic again
That clandestine air of affection
If only we had took the decent
and turned it into great
perhaps the smiles plastered on our face's
would be as real
as this portrait that plagues our days
The children we share
adoringly, they love our flaws
excepting of our fate
and our disconnect for one another
They are mirrors of us
reflections of a past that has lost its future
and in them we reside as a memory
better than this tired picture in a frame...
