The tyranny

Rogue Government
True patriots
Trump those who pretend
To be patriotic
And those who
Choose to
Live in fear
Of their Government

Well said David! In America, the pretenders wave flags while spewing hatred against non-white, non-Christian, non-straight, non-male-power-holders while claiming proudly to be patriots. Those are the ones I call Republikills.

With the current connotations of patriot my teeth hurt at the sound of the word. It's been polluted to only include a select group...Us (if you ain't with us, ye're agin' us mentailty). I always thought as you write here, but that's not how it's treated these days. Makes me furrow my brow and frown. Big big hugs! ☺

where there is no real discourse or compromise, patriotism dies and gets hijacked by extremists to the left and the right :-( Great Big Hugs :-)
