Views from a Pale Moon
Dried leaves,.
Signalling nature's retreat,.
A mind's eye sees the inevitable collapse,.
Of what is left of our dignity,.
The portentousness is gone into the night,.
Escaping like a wolf that sees his fate,.
As the hunter chases the warmth from his soul,.
The sky is bleeding from such repentance,.
The trees complain of our impotence,.
I often sat on the moon,.
And wondered what earth would be like,.
If our minds had a different view.,.,.,
