Bereft Of Myths
I am Sea, he claims
I am Earth, says she
He says, I am Fire
She claims, I am Wind
We are Eternal, they sing
I know I am plywood,
drywall, cement and asphalt,
surface on surface,
extending my neck patiently
for the DEMOLITION sign to be hanged on...

Sounds like an arrogant humans folly, thinking they're legendary and invincible, able to control the whole world including nature's elements. Enjoyed it a lot!

Thank you for commenting. Recognizing how relative our significance as a species is, perhaps will result to a little more humility.

There's nothing like having those inner attires and walls torn away.
sometimes pleasant and other's not, tis a scary adventure overall..
that mind of yours is a glorious thing!

"surface on surface"
loved that. definitely "solidifies" how we are solid yet breakable

Humility versus arrogance. The intent on comparing yourself to what's man made instead of nature which is of more divine work. What is man made can be broken down by man and rebuilt better unlike natural elements.
