Disrespecting Matter
Money frittered away,
my stuff, things,
worldly possessions,
scattered every which way,
making messes,
leaving them for other people
to clean up after me.
As the psychologists,
like Maslow, state,
unless one has control
over his physical,
material nature,
the ladder cannot
begin to be climbed,
and discovery of the true self,
and knowledge of ones identity,
is ultimately impossible.
Oh, what a child I was,
When I decided to jump headfirst
into the mental and spiritual realities,
Without having my matter understood.
There is a progression to these matters,
and usually for a reason:
Although we are all true spirits,
we are trapped within
these mortal coils for a reason,
we are flesh for to know
the true meanings
of pain and pleasure,
and to experience everything
these bodies have to offer.
Too much stuff and things—
no money?
No matter,
As long as matter is respected
my stuff, things,
worldly possessions,
scattered every which way,
making messes,
leaving them for other people
to clean up after me.
