Creation: Genesis;
a graphite shaft emptying
minerals of extreme
A carbon plowshare
folding flaky seed
into a sheet of grain
An aphotic rod
archs God from His Source;
redefines nothingness
a contoured semblance
from all formlessness
as it was in the Beginning
How intricate His hands
divide bare emptiness
into solid definition
Kaolinite and wax
extruded into lead
Create her over again
From Ashes to Ashes;
and Dust to Dust; an
Artist Rendering the Lead
From His extra rib
smudges Her own;
giving Life by Breath
Sits back to rest, views
all He has done
in Love and Gratitude
Says,
" It is very good "

Echo Shadoe and Splitsunsets. Enjoy the accompanying drawing which underlines this interpretation of the creation of woman. As Eden was traditionally in modern day Iraq, this version of Eve is nearer to a middle-eastern woman (and more biblical for that) than a Nordic looking blonde. Feel temptation to make comments about 'lead in pencils' coming on!
