A Pair Of Shoes
I tried to walk from my shadow
My feet faltered...
My shadow stopped hesitated
shuffled his feet
One pair of shoes stayed behind
He wanted
to build up volume
but every time his feet neared light
they disappeared
The shoes remained hollow
I watched
from a distance
I was going to lose
if I couldn't subdue Shadow
And what about this
strange fight for my shoes...
Winter was coming
and it would be cold
He frantically moved along the wall
his long legs slid
across the floor
The shoes remained stoically
in their place unused
I dived
struggled with Shadow and won
captured him in the shoes
now filled with darkness
I can never use them again
I face the cold with shoeless feet
don't feel them anymore
they may fall off
or become relics
My feet faltered...
My shadow stopped hesitated
shuffled his feet
One pair of shoes stayed behind
He wanted
to build up volume
but every time his feet neared light
they disappeared
The shoes remained hollow
I watched
from a distance
I was going to lose
if I couldn't subdue Shadow
And what about this
strange fight for my shoes...
Winter was coming
and it would be cold
He frantically moved along the wall
his long legs slid
across the floor
The shoes remained stoically
in their place unused
I dived
struggled with Shadow and won
captured him in the shoes
now filled with darkness
I can never use them again
I face the cold with shoeless feet
don't feel them anymore
they may fall off
or become relics
