My Equal
I thought I was a sunny flower
Blooming brighter with every hour
The fairest in the land
A flower nobody could understand
I am beginning to fade
With every familiar tune you play
It's hard to see the best of me
When it's me in you that they ever see
It can be fun, it can be games
If we call ourselves different names
But it's getting hard to be together
Because you wear my name a little better
I am beginning to fade
With every familiar tune you play
I think my colors are getting dull
I think your petals are blooming in full
No, I wouldn't say you copied me
I really enjoy your company
But it's disappointing when you say
You've become like me in every way
I am beginning to fade
With every familiar tune you play
This flower has a sequel
I hate that I'm an equal...
