in the garden of deceit
venomous entity
defiler of my soul
i call to god
within sweet incense
i find him to be one in the same
with the devil
a deity with an alter ego
he breaks me
knuckles down on my flesh
makes it bleed for him
plead for my sanity
as he confounds me
with his dual nature
both benevolent & malevolent
he causes all my suns
to die to him
rise for his pleasure
as they praise Allah in the East
he rains pestilence upon the land
wail to no avail
for he is both keeper of the covenant
& bringer of death
he asks me how i am evolving
in my humanoid form
how i made the stars to shine?
in his jealous hours
he implores me where is your lover
which galaxy does he abide?
he hunts a phantasm being
one of his own imaginations
i draw my power from nature
in the flower's first bloom
it withers & wilts
so i may survive
i drink from the honeycomb
have hidden myself
in the vesper mists
that rain upon me & revive
i denied my first love
& created a new God for me to love
here's lies the key
witness me fornicate
with a deity of my own making
you want to find me?
I've cloaked myself in the book of Job
cremations of love
that once was
before i saw your face
& once again knew the veracity
of your perpetual deceit

Beautiful Dark Angel, your pen has such a versatile voice. Each piece I read from you brings its own light to the page and adds another beautiful facet of you. There's a faintly defiant tone to this one that makes me almost giddy. But there's also an undercurrent of pain and frustration.
