Image for the poem Dominique

Dominique

The gun thugs call her Dominique
Last woman standing every time
The hoods left bleeding in her wake
Their dead whores propped all in a row

He offers to buy her a drink
A Blood On the Water, with a twist
He lights the tip of her Gaulois
His final glib attempt at gallantry

Dominique shoves her hero to the bed
Straddles his hips and rides
Allowing him his sweet release
And knowing this will be his last

She leaves him cooling in the sack
Before maid service rumbles by
Not much like the open road
And nothing like this killer high.
