..Rayne..

Each time one fell - lightning struck - with such an impact
it ripped me right in half and rocked me through with sonic boom,  
stripping out my bones - leaving body limp.  
 
Gripping my heart each time a drop of rain crashed to the ground,  
shattering the sky and my - whole world with kiss of death.
 
Clouds spilling tears keep pounding through the centuries
of time and penetrate stone mountain core.
Small drops of bombs pierce my mind and shatter aura's force fields.
The rain is my Achilles's heel, that inner fortress kill zone.
 
Born into the name of Rayne,  she pored of longing for a realm,
where one day she would find herself the inner peace she had craved.  
 
 But she kept her heart wrapped with shrouded casket linens
buried deep within - hidden chasms of her pain.
 
We met inside her world at the mid-point;  two realities...
I worked hard and long to court her down, so she came back here
to earth with me,  where we made a life and spun our love
with some faded black silk weave.
 
Got tangled in her web of thoughts -- sticky fragments of her traumas
that still clung to her as she fought -- but just could not release them  
from her darkest corners.  In time she withered -- and lost all sign of inner will.  
 
Kept bringing hints of light back in to chase away her fears. Held sparks  
of hope in shaking hand to keep my own black thoughts in check.
 
I remember well that day she left --- not a sign of brewing storm
inside her head.  That's when I knew her shadow never
would step back into the light - of my reality again.
