When she was human

Bleed me from your body, I no longer wish to be the one who's flowing through your heart. Far too long I've cried too many tears
of blood for you already -- and mourning you for one more drop - would likely bleed me dry.

We shall not die together as we thought, your plan from beginning
I believe. Your mind was gone far before the body ever followed - watched my reflection vanish from your eyes - and you then looked
at me so hollow with a vacant stare - drained of life and verve - undeserving of undying love that I pored for you like rain.

Was there another man or some other fine distraction? You taunted me in vain, for I would not play your games of war - to suffer your reaction. No, I won't remain one who's bemused nor transfixed by your mystic incantations, you cast that same spell on me one time before - and I only fell under your spell that once.

For you're the witch who practices dark magic and formulates naught but hexes -- you will also get your curse back to you times two...when tragic things befall you.

I do not wish you strife nor suffer any pain, for you I loved and held a sacred sanctuary deep within my heart.

My life begins anew, though it will be tough to trust again, or see how one can look at me intense with lover's stare, seems my very visage is compromised -- for in your eyes I reflected deeply but disappeared inside the ripples - of angry tears within your hidden wells of betrayal.

My fears are real and so are your insecurities -- they form a layer masking who you are -- like the make-up on your face, you wear but an image that you paint before a mirror.

I love you in a human way - but not as one who bleeds your tears - not ever once again. I need my strength to regain the life I spilled those times spent wounded by your pain.

So take my love and wrap it up around your heart my dear, for I really fear you will need its heat to warm your dying embers -- and it may help you remember times when you were capable of love - and flowed with blood through a heart that was one time living too.
