In the light

clouds dispersing  
sun gathers on windowsills,  
heat vapors rise off of tarmac  
trees glisten in dappled light  
 
sweet aroma lingers in the  
freshness of a new day,  
birds sing their melodic verses,  
testimony to joy  
 
she reaches her hand  
into the light always there  
when she needs it,  
bold reminder of splendors ahead  
 
much beauty,  
calm, after the storm  
today she chooses  
to dance in the sun
