Baby Boy
Baby Boy
There was a time, baby boy..
That your feet were tiny
But your footprints
Even then
Were mighty
Taken without fear
Fast and with a determined chin
Until you had what you desired
In your lil fist
Your pride verging on hubris
You were so sure of yourself
And I watched, nails in teeth, hoping you would not fall
Now baby
You are a man
And self confident still
You walk without trepidation through life
Reaching for Bigger and better every day
You believe you can do most anything
But I don't cringe anymore
When you take your first steps
I've learned
That you are right
You can do whatever you set your beautiful mind to
I love you my brave boy
With all that I am
You are oxygen
And you make me so proud
You are all that I am
The greatest thing I've ever done
Was having you
There was a time, baby boy..
That your feet were tiny
But your footprints
Even then
Were mighty
Taken without fear
Fast and with a determined chin
Until you had what you desired
In your lil fist
Your pride verging on hubris
You were so sure of yourself
And I watched, nails in teeth, hoping you would not fall
Now baby
You are a man
And self confident still
You walk without trepidation through life
Reaching for Bigger and better every day
You believe you can do most anything
But I don't cringe anymore
When you take your first steps
I've learned
That you are right
You can do whatever you set your beautiful mind to
I love you my brave boy
With all that I am
You are oxygen
And you make me so proud
You are all that I am
The greatest thing I've ever done
Was having you
