Beware the conspiracy theory
The one that turns out to be true
The moon could be made
Out of Austrian blue cheese
Rivers of blueberry milkshake flow
Happily there are no mice
Or rats to ruin the landscape
Elvis is still alive and well
Living with Michael Jackson
In a bunker at area 51
They are at home there
Because both were Zillons
From the planet Thaargg
They are amongst us
We never landed on the moon?
Of course we did, obviously
We have the evidence
Blueberry milkshakes
And Austrian blue cheese
How else would we know
It’s what we brought back
The Roswell incident was real
A UFO crash landed in the desert
Two aliens were killed
Two aliens survived
Elvis and Michael Jackson
That is why they were so good
Aliens can really hold a tune

good stuff. Most of what was sci-fi and/or conspiracy is now mainstream proven
the dumbest people alive (actually proven, google the studies), discount all new info due to
cognitive dissonance. Half of humans get cancer, autism has risen 1000%, yet there's nothing going on here..look away.
I could go on, but all in all I'm glad they have new stuff to talk about..leaves some innocents alone :)

Cognitive dissonance - people can't handle the truth of what's going on because it's "too extreme". And dumming down is long since planned. How else can such humungous lies go 'unnoticed' and un-reacted to?

I love the logic on this one David. Great twist at the end, as is often the case with your poems - nice :)

I dig this big time David. If I had a choice if not for the drugs and music alone, Elvis AND MJ would be on my list. I would just stay away from the toilet and Propofol, LOL. <3

The poem ( as well as the ensuing discussion ) is spot on. Dumming down has been slowly occurring since the 50's ( including desensitization ).
We could barely watch Freddy, Jason, or Michael Myers in the 70's/80's without nightmares. Now we watch the Walking Dead et al without flinching.
We're being extracted, plain and simple. I could list 100 ways but, like Miki said, they'd just turn their head.
