I think about my life
And how I made it here
The good, bad, and in-between
Memories of mine kept near
Running to my daddy
So glad to see his face
Being tucked in by mommy
Made this little girl's day
I learned to ride my bike
Yelling "daddy don't let go"
Mommy walked me to the school bus
Nervous about the unknown
Long summer nights
Playing til after dark
"Just one more minute please!"
Was the only worry in my heart...
The smell of breakfast in the air
The sound of Saturday mornin' cartoons
Lazy days filled with play
Naps in the afternoon...
Childhood memories find their way
Into my mind, and I smile
I let that grin take me back in time
Enjoy the peace for a little while
My chilhood days are over
But that little girl still lives inside
Laughing, running, care-free playing
I hope she will always be my guide...
