Always preoccupied    
By daily routine    
In those moments    
Forgetting to dream    
     
Educating the mind    
Neglecting the soul    
Ignoring my passions    
Not feeling whole    
     
Overlooking who I am    
Forging through days    
A passage unmarked    
Not seen through the haze    
     
Untrue to myself    
Psyche maligned    
Emotionally alone    
Feeling confined    
     
Ceasing to exist    
If I do not allow    
My fire to burn
