so far from you now
my lust for your masculine form
kept me distracted
I stayed the course
when in tune with your poetry & music
your artistry drew me a new life
in charcoal grays
now I'm out of step
not quite right in my thoughts
I need to dream to live
you're the muse
that has fed me fire
from your rock hard abs
to your intellect
that sets my mind ablaze
let me taste you now
I'm in the midst of a dry spell
cos you long ago
put away your poetic pen
you crushed me up
& snorted my lust
like it was cocaine
it fed your ego
left me cold
still I think of you
how your art
kept me sane
when the world was skewed
& I had nothing else to steady me
my fantasies were a safe place
as my madness howled
I came to this place
seeking solace
I found it in you
you the heroin I still phened for
made poetry exciting
together you & I a speedball
we reached the moon
just to crash back down
upon the Earth

Last stanza is the kickass one. We reach for that old
elusive moon for all it is worth, and if we are fortunate
enough to latch on it, there is only one way to go from
