The Egg

This is a poem I wrote for the DUP competition " Visual Poetry for Social Media - Objectify" wherein a poem entry of 50 words or less is overlaid on a visual background, in this case, a photo I took of one of my original designed hen eggs (approx. 2 1/2" tall) painted using acrylics, and then glazed.  The pattern of this one is called "Venetian".

*bows deeply, solemnly...* I'm glad you like, Tommy... but... I never showed you any of my hand-painted decorative hen eggs?  I even customized my camel-hair brushes to accommodate the tiny details I was able to execute.  One of the brushes had only 6 camel hairs.  Yep - that tiny.

An egg can be a perfect canvas for an artist with a light touch.   I love this beautiful little poem and the egg painted with such wonderful detail.  A masterpiece!

Jade, this is beautifully written. It has a Shakespearean quality. Like this from ct III, scene II of Hamlet:
"For us, and for our tragedy,
Here stooping to your clemency,
We beg your hearing patiently."
