an uncomfortable resolution
Wearing shame
while your head held high
a validation of a transgression
Dismissing the past
does not negate
the scars of your action
Unlamented apology
from a conscience
does not excuse your infraction
Not mine to punish
nor to pardon
look not to me for absolution

for me, to forgive is very much like respect - both need to be earned, just my view. I do not forgive easily and it is virtually impossible to forget :-(
