Relapse
Again I am existing in between
Petrified to stop and no way to wean
I saw the recoil before it came
Yet reverted to safety, just the same
Oh the storm, I saw it brewing
But my senses were just renewing
Observing the trenches of my soul
I knew the source would take it's toll
Open and wounded with no chain-mail
How do I recover and begin to sail?
Petrified to stop and no way to wean
I saw the recoil before it came
Yet reverted to safety, just the same
Oh the storm, I saw it brewing
But my senses were just renewing
Observing the trenches of my soul
I knew the source would take it's toll
Open and wounded with no chain-mail
How do I recover and begin to sail?

Everyone relapses at times. Trial and error is human nature. Welcome to DUP Mel44!

Mel, you illustrate so well how one struggles with bad habits and addiction. I identify perhaps too closely with this passage: "Petrified to stop and no way to wean." Brava!

Addiction is tricky...Just when you think you have it on it's knees, it downs an energy drink and comes out swinging. But I am not down for the count yet!

Dear Wallyroo,
It seems you have identified with this piece. Addiction is a harsh reality for some. Thanks for your kind response.
