Peacefully Dreaming
You looked so beautiful lying there
So peaceful, I wonder what you’re dreaming of
I always enjoyed watching you when you slept
In the darkness, without being restless
It always confounded me because awake
You were always so fiery such a spark
Then night would come and the peace
Would envelope us both despite my insomnia
I was so in love with you in those moments
I would hold you without wanting sex
Your deep sleeping an infectious calm
Some nights, like a stalker I would stand
Almost hover over you, just watching
Just praying you could be like this in the day time
You look so beautiful lying there
Quietly in the trunk of my car
I don’t want to disturb you, but I must
The ditch has been dug
I have to bury you undiscovered
So sleep on my love
Don’t worry, it’s only dirt
It will keep you warm
It will wrap you up
Snug and tight
Peacefully dreaming
