stand up
Her tears fall down her face
She sits her head bowed in silence
She thinks what I have done
She looks at the marks
What has she done to her body?
The marks fade but scars remain
She hates how they look
She feels they make her ugly
He holds her close
He tells her
Everything is going to be ok
That no matter what
He loves her
He tells her that her scars
Make her beautiful
That it shows she’s survived
She keeps saying she didn’t mean to
He tells her it’s ok that it was an accident
She cries saying she promised no more
He holds her closer saying he understands why
She lays in his lap eyes closed
Tears flowing down her pale cheeks
He kisses away the tears
Telling her life is a battle
She is being strong and fighting
She will slip and fall
But she must never stay down
She must always get up
He tells her that her soul is strong
She must fight
She must
