Bloodless Body/Evening Apathy
In waves madness comes
Undertaking, overwhelming
I am melting into it
Utterly succumbed
To the perpetuity of
Echoing screams
One with belligerent
Tones of voice--
Anxiety is a cruel lover
I know no other
At arms length I reside
Hopeless until tomorrow
And may I ask
When might that be?
For I am aging aimlessly
Drowning in excreta
Apathy is a body
Drained of its blood
And I am apathy
In a violent monotony
I am vexed
Awaiting what ever
May come next.

Sometimes there are moments of aimlessness that makes us question our own purpose in existing. Anonshadow:)

This is an excellent outline of apathy, anon. That final stanza is powerful in its nature to convey meaning.

Mmmm Madness does certainly come in waves! Reading this poem felt all too familiar. I could be completely wrong about my interpretation, but while reading this I felt that you had crawled into my head and written my darker moments. I can remember nights laying in my emptiness feeling "hopeless until tomorrow". But even waking up the next day wouldn't wake me from the nightmare "And may I ask / When might that be? /For I am aging aimlessly"
Aghh I feel this all too well! Those phases where life feels like a violent monotony! Because on the outside you are following the same routine but on the inside you are getting ripped apart, tearing yourself down into madness.
I just got really excited reading this because it resonated so well. Thank you for writing this! (:

Thank you Marika, I am a fan of your works as well. Your interpretation is spot on, this a reflection of my life currently, it's this feeling that today is hopeless, so you wait for tomorrow, yet tomorrow never comes and you realize you're getting older and going no where. Yes you understood perfectly, I am happy in resonated so well, reading your comment almost made me feel as though you crawled in my head and wrote it, you knew it so well. Hopefully it helps you to know you're not the only one that is going through this as it does me. I appreciate you taking the time to read. ~anonshadow😏
