i lie awake one mid summer night
as to say words that were misunderstood
i never meant to burn the love within your soul
for your love i can't let go
your eyes dim gray as to say you need me
but you spread your wings and flew away
i see you in my dreams
i see you while i wonder through my mind
for i am truly sorry the wasted time you have endured
but only you i adore
your troubled past comes to haunt yoy

you cut your wrist feeling the pain
but still you beg for more
as your blood drips on the bathroom floor
i take your hand as to say you don't need the pain
but still i see the hurt, the pills, and the lies you told
they were all painted on your face
no not painted for they were stained across your heart
