They can tell
That I process
Every syllable
And mhmm at
The proper moments

But I reckon
That all good listeners
Are afraid.
At least
I am afraid
That if I stop
Listening
That I will speak
And speaking
Will bring about
Rejection
Or judgement
My words
Would be
Misunderstood
Or unheard
So I remain
A good listener
So I don't become
The very same
Silencer  
That mutes my remark
