Arcadia
There was a star studded sky
heat-cracked marble, showering
down orange burnt embers glowing, from the suns deep watchful eye
and its salty tear duct excreting rain droplets
I'm washed up on the shores of arcadia
time to detox from this infectious disease
together we swooned and wept,
bleeding is her jungle tentative greens
on her golden crinkled leaf tissue
a mysterious mist-shrouded river flows
a bright, magnitude of iridescent colours
water shimmering pearls, her jungle flowers
radiating a neon illumination
a twinkling nimbus of charcoal and water washed indigo
Heart shaped shafts of light
are pouring candle wax onto my extra sensory perception
masked, blindfolded, but I can still smell her vegetation
Trying to describe her beauty I'm tripping over decomposing syllables
her skin tasting of the sweetest fruits,
with palm tress spearing heavenwards,
luminance that raiding the undergrowth,
pulsing with life, in a specular reflection,
But something scuttles in,
a creature of the night
yellow bucked teeth
and matted, sewer drain fur
armed with a wrap of brown and a hypodermic needle
a scavenger, not stopping to rest.. searching for ripe life
I've hidden in the crevices of darkness and still underground life evades me
His teasing fingers tampering with the coil-strung trap
temptation is extermination for this filthy little rat
I can smell his stinking heroin burning on a spoon
I try to escape but this rat knows my every move
his swooping shadow meets a fringe of daylight
but all I see is his burning florescent red eyes
It was a murder, with no after bloom
I've been chased, I've been hunted.
but I couldn't escape too soon
