This conjures images in my mind of slipping as silently as possible past sleeping beasts, trying to escape to the sunlight.  Or in this case, stars.  I understand the idea of not stirring up the silt here.  You truly do have a place among the stars, Brenda.  Illuminating and dazzling in the darkness in which you so often dwell.  :)

Taking this write very seriously, Brenda. I hearken back to certain demons who still want to ravage me after all this time. To "stir the mist / so not to trouble / the murky black" is an upbeat part of survival, believe me I know whereof you speak. So much about this poem mirrors my thought process. Fabulous write!
