I'm Now Lost In Grey

I'm lost in a sea of grey swirling around pools of black
Perfectly gloomy in color but vibrantly reflecting the light around them
The shade of the moss on the rocks at the top of Multnomah Falls
A grey I'll never become used to no matter how many times I see them
They look at me, at my soul, at all the flaws that have come together to be me
His eyes they see everything, from the tears in the corners of my eyes
To the way my lips twitch in my attempt to stop smiling around him
His eyes are beautiful and solid like purest mix of precious metals
There isn't a time when my eyes don't admire his so completely
When they look back into mine I'm at a loss for words to describe
The comfort, the safety, the love and trust I find within his eyes
I'm always searching for something I cannot trust in those perfect eyes
But as time goes on there's nothing that I can distrust hidden within
I've spent hours just looking, staring and memorizing each great line,
Each and every curve, the way his pupils narrow and widen,
The simple but intoxicating way they look at me, so much serenity in them
The way he closes his eyes in unabridged laughter as his whole body
Shakes with that delightful and so addicting sound that fills the room
The way his eyes focuses on my lips before he captures them with his own
His eyes demand you to notice them and make you never want to look away
He says they are colorless but to me his beautiful grey eyes are the color
Of everything good and happy, they're the color of the sky before the sunrise
The color of metal, strong and long lasting, the color of hope
Some say gold is the color of love but for me it is grey, the perfect grey
Of my best friend, my lovers, unique and absolutely perfect grey eyes
