GOD COMPLEX

Suppressed beneath a vagrant tide
My humanity is elucidated
Here wakes the thorn in my pride
And pain so gently eradicated
Converging beneath me, I feel the heart
The universe blinks, remnants emerge
Somehow I feel I've known from the start
Immortality writes the saddest dirge

Your eyes, all glistening with disapproval
Only a fragment remains of humility
I long for a forgotten realm
Where innocence is still alive
A witness of my crime, I am ashamed
That this trail of blood is mine
A gale blows, growing in strength
And the silence is too much to bear

The sky dives and a stigma is erased
Don't corrupt me anymore

I know that the whispers seem to loud
And the unending strumming of heartstrings
But the maelstrom of the aftermath
It beckons me, it becomes me
I must return the favour
Before the storm grows
Before the death in me is known

I climb on wings of gilded night
Rising through the vines of inadequacy
Fettered all the while by the light
I fight the urge to look back to me

Every breath syncopates like cries
The tender touch of your voice
It arouses my erroneous mind
Subsequently, I make a last choice
To ameliorate and avail the sky
And birth a new reality

This love I cannot hide
Humanity is lost inside
But deep is the facade
Struggling against the odds

My flesh is but a shell
Darkness flushed from inside
A heaven overflowing hell
And love is what I'll hide
