Love Letter to Aunt Lucy

you know people say LSD is a dangerous drug
but it's life embodied
it's exploration concentrate
and shrooms are similar
but then you get sticky
and odorless
and you feel like you're paralyzed in the Amazon
(nightshade's "from the earth" too asshole)
while for some reason Anansi's
laughing at you
and a million grasshopper's are silently
judging you
whenever you close your eyes
but on Lucy, there's magic
and Santa Muerte's there to guide me
and Baron Samedi is eating Buddha
and faces in the sand are vomiting other faces
see cause LSD taught me how to shave
so I could look in the mirror
and see my mother's face
clearly, with melting eyes
and Aztec war paint
LSD taught me that I'm not unique
and what a relief that is
to not have the weight of generations on your back
on your balls
in your genes
or inside your jeans
LSD taught me to work for a living
for real this time
and to love the smell of your brow
salted and sulfurous
and LSD told me that I still love myself
after everyone
and everything
is gone
and that I don't have to sweat it
but I can't stay put
LSD gave me the impulse
I set the map on fire
and have been wandering true ever since
