Writers Block
Have you ever had writers block?
Stuck staring at your paper
Or your cell phone
Just waiting
for something in this time and space
Fabric
Just magic..ally
Inspire you to create something new,
And different.
I put on my headphones
Looking for the right song
Whose bass
Will take
Me into never land
Where I bite my lips
And my chest expands
Trying to catch my breath
But the words just seem to scram..ble
In all different types of directions.
To be honest I don't even write my lines
I text them.
My vocabulary isn't what it used be
My rhymes are repetitive.
Why do I even have to rhyme
I don't get it.
I try not too
But it just happens.
I guess I can't hold a verse
So I snap it
With a similar word
But non of these synonyms
And verbs
Are making sense.
Still staring at this blank page
On my phone.
Switch over to another app
Change the song
Let the beat take me home
Or to another world
What's going on
Why can't I find my
inspiring song
With the right sound
And the right hook
I'm getting frustrated
I want to right hook
And then left jab
The first thing if see
Throw the first thing grab
I just want to write
Or type
Or dance
Or whatever it takes
Too lose myself
I take another line
To see if these lines
Will cruise
It helps
My thumbs catch up with my brain.
Maybe another pill
To numb the pain
Then a shot
To bring it back
I need something that's going
Get me feeling that
Breath takingly
Crazy
Angry, sad, melloncoly feeling at
the bottom of my stomach
To the top of my back.
Take another pill?
Give me that
Here's 15 bucks
Now leave me
Too see these
Demons laugh,
Staring at my lap
At my phone
With a blank page
And a blinking bar
It's been hours lost in these sounds
And in these pills
Maybe one more line
Just to feel
like I'm me once again.
Fuck the pursuit of happiness,
I'm not looking for zen.
Just the next line
To complete the poem.
But this writers block got
Got me nailed by the palms
To this cross
Let this ecstacy
Set me free.
Or the whisky coke
Or the lines of coke
All I need is that one note
To get my story started.
Stuck staring at your paper
Or your cell phone
Just waiting
