Thank you. Sometimes I feel that all my dark places come from being afraid to truly show myself. So many years of pretending...I don't even know where the mask ends and me begins. While my heart is crying to be embraced, could I handle acceptance? Perhaps I've become accustomed to my dark place? ...
And then I remember, I'm ultimately trying to get rid of my ego, so none if it matters anyway (meanwhile, the majority of my poems are "self poems"...).

It's tiresome and draining trying to wear a mask, a façade that hides guilt. Sooner or later your face in all it's glory and vulnerability is reveal, and that's when your true self, your true beauty can shine. xo
