Not An Addict
I am not an alcoholic, I just love alcohol
The feel with in my head to let go and get lost
For a moment to exist in a timeless world
Be carefree and daring to the things I wouldn't do
I love alcohol, I know I just said that twice
It just sounds so nice, repeat it a million times.
Staring at the liquid of poison
As the glass on my lips pours in with swift
I gulp with every nectar burning my flesh
awakening my courageous twin.

I like the contradiction here.. i do not know if it was intentional or not.. "i am not an alcoholic, i just love alcohol" as well as many of the other lines are the way i feel about alcohol and other drugs, and i just began identifying myself as an addict about a year ago. I am not saying by any means you are or aren't an addict, only you know that.. but i enjoyed the conflict that I interpreted from this piece! keep writing, and stay safe :)

I'm not an alcoholic and I just hope I will stay that way but who knows and that terrifies me and that's my conflict...Hope you're going strong in fighting your battle and Ty, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed my poem :)
