Consider this
Consider this. Snatched from your Mother and siblings as a baby and never allowed to see them again. Kept in a Country where you never really understand the language, apart for a few simple words if your captors bother to teach you. Forced to do their bidding, eat only when they allow it and sleep on the floor. If you're a good enough specimen sex is sometimes permitted but only with close supervision and if you're not considered good enough you are forcibly castrated.
Totally at your Master's whim and if he decides he doesn't want you around anymore, he can just pass you on to others to use as they see fit, often beaten into submission. Sometimes money changes hands especially if they want to breed from a good looking female (she's never asked her opinion!!)
When you're old, decrepit or just not wanted you're disposed of (literally)
This happens all over the world, maybe next door to you............... if they own a dog.

you had me captivated, i really didn't see the twist coming i thought it was about people trafficking.
I love dogs and I hate to think of the horror they go through. I think the fact that thousands of dogs are bred to make money as house pets rather than to work like they used to, is a big problem.

It's a good job most breeds aren't bred for their original work. For example Dachshunds were bred for Badger hunting, Staffordshire Bull Terriers (my breed) for dog fighting, Yorkshire Terriers for killing rats. But you're right there are too many back street breeders doing it just for the money and not caring what they are putting out there. I used to show and breed my dogs but only after careful consideration of pedigrees, so consequently I was considered a good breeder and always had a waiting list for my puppies.

What a unique twist. I have a 4yr old Pitt she is in the process of becoming my full-time psychiatric service dog. I also have a 15yr chihuahua. They snuggle and play all the time.I really loved this piece. By the way, WELCOME TO THE WONDERS OF DU🙋,

Pitbulls are illegal in England by the way although originally they came from the same stock many years ago. An American saw our Staffordshire Bull Terriers like what he saw and took them back to his country and mixed them with something bigger.
