It's Happening!

He felt that a change was forthcoming,  
Though the know-how was giving no clue  
It was what he'd needed for decades,  
For his whole life embracing anew.  
 
It's been long and we've only just met  
When we know it's been only six months.  
But six months can seem like forever  
When there still is so much we should know.  
 
Yet suddenly time runs fast forward,  
So that all of the plans have been made  
For when Geoffrey will drive here alone  
After hopping, crisscross, state to state.  
 
He has a clear mind as this happens  
When it comes to what he leaves behind.  
There's what lies ahead in his future  
Which is unknown, yet opens the door.  
 
And so what it comes down to is this  
When the end of the day is arrived;  
There are two hearts, both beating as one,  
With that first call from him to revive.
 
 
 
( this doesn't include details as to how it's come to this, even since Geoff was a child, but it's from me to him, even as his major life's changes are going down as I post )
