Self righteous ramblings in the face of existence

It can be hard; being right all the time.
A lot of pressure; the promise of performance.
Even when I'm initially wrong, down the line, I'm right.
Eventually, anyway.
Usually sooner rather than later, I'll somehow foresee the end of something.
A task; a relationship; a life; a job.
Most people object to being corrected.
They mill around, oblivious to their inaccuracies,
Safe in the knowledge that they are doing the best they can.
When you point out their flaws the defences go up.
Claws out; hiss and spit; recoil in horror at my audacity to correct THEM.
"I mean, what the fuck does HE know about it anyway?",They may say.
Well, I know how life works.
God is a myth.
A fairy tale made up to explain the inexplicable in an ancient time of ignorance.
Sooner or later, your ticket will come up.
You can have billions in the bank and not stop it or empty pockets with naught but lint.
Your time is your time.
You can fight it a bit and might even stave it off,
but that simply means that THAT wasn't your time.
It was a warning shot.
Batten down the hatches and steel your nerves.
Grit your teeth and bare your soul to the darkness as it beckons.
'Live a good life and you shall live on in the memories of your loved ones',
If I may paraphrase a misinterpreted quote.
Whoever did come up with it hit the nail on the head.
Immortality is being remembered.
Hopefully I can collect more memories in the meantime for those whom I know,
To show how it's done.
Let them work out how I'd have done it so they may follow and in my stead, remain.
