sirius ascending
there weren't any stars anymore.
no satellites, no celestial bodies.
they just vanished one day
and without a trace.
maybe the sun returned to ferrocerium and butane.
maybe god snapped and fizzled out
like fractured tungsten.
like a street lamp flickering
and deserting me.
i saw a young girl burn a 'dog star'
into the ebony sky
using only her eyes.
using only her eyes.
i guess
deep down i know
there were never any stars in the sky.
no satellites, no celestial bodies.
they just vanished one day
and without a trace.
maybe the sun returned to ferrocerium and butane.
maybe god snapped and fizzled out
like fractured tungsten.
like a street lamp flickering
and deserting me.
i saw a young girl burn a 'dog star'
into the ebony sky
using only her eyes.
using only her eyes.
i guess
deep down i know
there were never any stars in the sky.
