My whole life was based on one ba•nan•a
Like a broken record
I was raised by a platoon sergeant,
an active army man during the
Korean conflict. He wanted to go overseas
but they wouldn’t let him. My childhood
is filled with stories of Fort Leonard Wood,
They were probably all bullshit
by the look of his grin, but they were his.
He met Mom there. She had thrown
a banana peel on one of the officer’s cars.
He saw her and told her to pick it up,
and to her reply, who’s going to make me do it…
