A photographer's aim - Sonnet
The sun is peeking coyly through the trees
A winter’s tale in minor, carved in ice
Crystal brooks act as mirrors for wild geese
Bright sunbeams paint illusionary lies
Fierce love for capturing scenes by lenses
Vital landscapes preserved in space and time
Frozen sketch of what in real-time dances
Like poetry’s passionate beat and rhyme
Cloud formations unique every minute
Paused to charm the viewer’s artistic mind
Like words endlessly combined sans limits
Eye and camera show the world refined
The photo, a memory from the past,
Shows beholders that precious moments last
My first 140-syllabic :-). Entered the SONNET SLAM, hosted by Hepcat 61. Thank you! Great idea, I had much fun!

As a professional photographer I can truly appreciate this. Especially the final couplet.
Well done on your first sonnet and best of in the comp!

You're a professional photographer! WOW! You're lucky! I used to be on tour after work with my dog, taking pics everywhere. Now my dog is dead, I work much more than before and have les and less time for taking pictures. That reduced me to a holiday photographer.
Thanks for your kind comment, Ahavati, and for the good wishes for the comp, too :-).

It can have its moments. It's not all glitz and glam, that's for sure. Hours stuck editing can definitely curb the creative process. I turn down more than I accept now. But, it's all live and learn.
I am so sorry about your dog. Animals are so much more than mere pets; they're family and a deep rooted part of our lives. Your empty spot is palpable. I hope you once again find time to create more.

I know ... I like to shoot people (well, through the lens :-)) but what I don't like is the procession of the photos. At least if there are too many of those portraits. It is good that you are able to turn down requests. Makes it all the more satisfying. Good luck!
Thank you for your warm words regarding my dog. He was a family member for sure and for 10 years. We got him from the shelter when he was 4. Nobody wanted him since he was big and black. But he was perfect for us. And we for him, I think :-).

The last few days in England have had combinations of frost and sunshine, as well as intriguing cloud formations on my journeys to and from work - could therefore relate to this.

I know. That's what inspired me!
Nooooo, just joking. But surely it was the weather in England that inspired Shakespeare to write so much :-).

I loved this line:
"Bright sunbeams paint illusionary lies"
This one line can stand on its own.
