Idle Hands
acres and acres for miles and miles
poverty and dispair fills the eyes
what was once fertile now lay in ruins
but greed was these fields undoing
the scarecrow is standing guard day and night
to make sure not a single morsel leave his sight
while starving souls beg for a taste
seems a cruel disgrace to let it all go to waste
had scarecrow shared it willingly
this would seem far less a tragedy
But the crow did no work, so why should it eat?
take take take for today, but what about next week?
had the crow contributed to its very cause
there would be an abundance for all
but no use sitting counting crows
murder, murder to humanitys soul
and i wonder just what scares the scarecrow
is it the crows figuring out its just for show
I also wonder does the crow know
It is no different than the scarecrow
Sowhose to blame the scarecrow or the crow
If neither realized you reap what you sow!!!
“Where the vast cloudless sky was broken by one crow I sat upon a hill - all alone - long ago; But I never felt so lonely and so out of God's way, As here, where I brush elbows with a thousand every day” - quote by Harry Kemp
