insight into an adventurous mind, without directions. who substituted compass with instinct. and yet is not oblivious to the signs.

calm boldness resounds here. an air of mystery surrounds those words

"Not all who wander are lost" - both a blessing and a curse it seems: as while I wander I am content and beyond happy, but when I return more than time has been lost and little has changed it seems.

Mystery and calmness are a part of me I wish to further enhance, though they are but bread and butter to your good self!

I pictured more a murmuring sandstorm tinged with melancholy, than a gentle breeze of balming calm, but it is good that you found it that way.

I guess it's just a measure of the violent angry-storm I was feeling when I first read this that made it seem serene.

True, the endless dead desert would be serene compared to the maelstrom of tempestuous emotions and stormy temperament. A change to the otherwise serene sea and desert sandstorms.
