Illuminated nights
Lain low entrenched in festering beds
Over the top at whistles screech
Vickers sing wars hymn
Explosions, shrapnel, dread barb wire
Youth that will never grow old
Old ashamed of a youth
Under earth, rusting whistles lie

My opinion I think rusting goes better for it's continuance to rust and not be rusty already. Very interesting write and other than the Acrostic I love you im not sure if you are talking about love or something else, still....a good write.

I expected a romantic poem and find an anti-war one - but still a good poem for that.
