UPDATE! I have been promoted to "lost thinker" and while it is an honour, I'm struggling to see how it's better than "strange creature" seems more a lateral move. Neither "lost" nor "thinker" seem very promising. Together, it's downright dismal. Nevermind though, onward and... Sideways.
