Beautiful and Painful Display

V1:
She had big dreams that when she was older
She'd run to a place that never got colder
Cause when it was warm outside
She felt she had control of her life

Time moved on and so did everybody
And as it got cold she felt so lonely
The only person who could console
Was one that she never could hold

V2:
She tried and tried to take control of her life
When she cried and cried she took solace in a knife
She couldn't let anyone see
She thought what have I done to me

She met a boy who everyone thought was different
But as time went by it couldn't be clearer
This boy said he'd stay by her for life
He helped her through the cold nights

V3:
As time went by they started drifting
And he found the puzzle piece in his life that was missing
He left her behind
Her life began to unwind

She didn't understand and everything was different
She had to move on and look to the future
But that was just so hard to do
The pain inside of only he knew

V4:
Next thing she knows she's alone on the curb
He broke her heart with those few little words
She just wanted to feel love
But this she was still void of

She runs out of places she can go
And finally winds up back at her home
But nothing has changed
It's coldness there still hangs

V5:
She has to find a way to handle these emotions
She's lost and hurting and needs a place to turn to
She stumbles across a pen
Scribbles some lines on a page

She pours out herself onto the paper
She weeps as she goes and sooner or later
She looks at what she has made
It's a beautiful and painful display
