Changes
As I walk down this dirt path barefoot I begin to reminisce about the things that kept me content then thinking about the simplest of times as I try to block out the worst of times.
Then walking down this other path of broken dreams it becomes more
rough, rugged, and bumpy as I start to feel these hard rocks at the soles of my feet,
It's almost as harsh as concrete.
I'm aching and crying, but won't be stopping anytime soon.
Then climbing the highest mountain as I feel so exhausted and tarnished, I want to give up so badly but how can I?
I'm almost there.
Wiping the sweat from my forehead while tucking my hair back I keep on climbing higher and higher till finally I reach the top.
I stop to see a waterfall.
So beautiful and magical to hear the water rushing so quickly down the rocks to the stream as it looks so soft and gentle.
I undress myself and slowly walk into the water.
With such care the water heals me,
It relieves me from the pain I was feeling.
I sigh in awe of this beautiful waterfall.
It calls to me to feel it come down over me.
The water splashes on me as I wash away
all of my sorrow, and all of my hurt, all of my stress, and all of my fears.
I become myself, a person.
Not just a woman,
Not just a girl,
But a person.
Someone that will someday find out my true meaning for this world,
Someone that will someday find peace,
Someone that will one day be someone great.
I see my reflection in the water and see me, the real me that's hiding underneath.
I shed a tear as I start to realize it's time for some changes.
