Reaching luminous Stars
she's stranded in her own darkness
reaching for the stars
grasping passing fireflies
to light her path
to her one true love
but where....
was there one for her
the true and truly
does it exists
or just mere fantasy
translated lies
perpetuated by Cartland
death of cliches haunts her
all the I love Yous and Forevers
all gone, fantasied into nothingness
she laments silently alone
mocked by the howling pain in her heart
as banshees shrieking for succour
standing on tiptoes
she reads the skies
blue as blue can be
and nods her head
in affinity.
