last lonely blues
( ‘Whorehouse Blues’ Motorhead)
youth is a wild thing
& sometimes the wild heart
don’t lay down with age
caught a train to the edge of trouble
woulda had a sedate life
if it weren’t for whores & gutter blues
strap my sleepy soul to the back
of a harley, ride me where the music goes
when there is nothing left to say
& no one listens anyway
stars don’t shine on a sinless stage
mouth fulla whiskey, hand fulla danger
& I’ll never forget the things I can’t remember
wrote me a song
wrote me a song to sing
when love is gone

People become so ingrained in patterns it's difficult to believe anything else exists.
stars don’t shine on a sinless stage
There is typically a price for success, except for those rare performers drug into the spotlight.
Raw write full of like-minded fellowship who recognizes each other through the filter of their blues.

Feelin' the lyrical blues as it trails its way into the depths of an exquisite melancholy. These things get better with age, savoring this...ink.. Happy New Year, Sir Blues! ,,,blue angel,,,hugs - (cheers!!)

"strap my sleepy soul to the back

So taking that trip in mind with you right now. Very well written piece, John. Encapsulates the epiphany I think we all come to at *that particular point in life.. waking up to nothing.

That gives hope and makes me keep lusting for things they're about to deny me within a few years.
Great piece, John!

'caught a train to the edge of trouble ' loved this line and the slam dunk laid down bare last verse kept me there...love what you do as always, you inspire the cobwebs in my brain to try remember how to sling sentences together, in hope that the result is somewhere near as classic as your work...CURTSY BOW

My Feddler, my Feddler.. must
you inspire me? will thee grant
her a single wish?
you know what she's asking of
you..

"Caught a train to the edge of trouble," one of several terrific lines in this sweet rock n roll number. Well done , John !
