Embracing the Self

Rewarding ourselves
with who we are,
we come to see
our highest self
as the goal to be.  

With each culminating layer,
we give ourselves
a new coat
of paint,
adopt a new avatar,
take into consideration
the truth
of the moment,
and express ourselves
as how we presently
perceive our inner being.  

Each step
becomes a fashion statement
to ourselves,
committing us
to our own inner perceptions.  

The little black hole
of a dress,
collapsing the stars
at our doorway,
the sensuous sides
of synchronicity,
the umbilical madness
of our being tethered
to our own awareness
and living through denial
and abstinence
from the luxury
of our being
free enough
to rush
to the end
and stride full power
into the variance,
not remotely triggered
by life,
but full on
blazing the wickedness
of vision,
out loud
saying to ourselves,
"This is who I am;
live with it."
