Truth and Death
you were once my every thought
my first in the morning and last at night
I gave up on my self and now we're miles apart
the distance measured by pain and loss
my mind says I don't love you anymore
but my heart says otherwise
it still screams your name at night
into the veil of lies
stitched onto the walls of my mind
tears fall on the ashes laid down like snow
the ashes from burning dreams
set fire by the words laced with truth and death
your gravestone a mirror of my ignorance
and now I've paid the price
love lost in the deceased holds regret
the regret of fear birthing affliction
the words never spoken haunt my sleep
your face hanging in my mind
the hourglass can't erase your memory
my heart forever belongs to you my dear
my first in the morning and last at night
I gave up on my self and now we're miles apart
the distance measured by pain and loss
my mind says I don't love you anymore
but my heart says otherwise
it still screams your name at night
into the veil of lies
stitched onto the walls of my mind
tears fall on the ashes laid down like snow
the ashes from burning dreams
set fire by the words laced with truth and death
your gravestone a mirror of my ignorance
and now I've paid the price
love lost in the deceased holds regret
the regret of fear birthing affliction
the words never spoken haunt my sleep
your face hanging in my mind
the hourglass can't erase your memory
my heart forever belongs to you my dear
